Sklar Bros Rock Comedy Central Tonight

Submitted by admin on Sat, 03/27/2010 - 02:40.

A note from our favorite comedic twins, The Sklar Brothers (sorry Olsons!)

Randy and I are very excited to let you know that tonight on Comedy Central at 11:30pm ET, our latest half hour stand up comedy special is premiering.  It's been nearly 10 years since our last special premiered and in that time, we've gotten married, had children. worked really hard on developing as comedy writers and performers, and got into a confrontation with Andrew Dice Clay, all of which we talk about in detail on the special.

We really just wanted to thank everyone in our world who has supported us, loved us, and encouraged us to continue to create.  Without you, there's no way we would have had the courage to fail the requisite thousand or so times in order to be able to successfully put together a second half hour of material for TV.So we invite you to set your DVRs, or go old school and watch it live tonight.Hope it makes you laugh.Lots of love,Jason and Randy

The Temp Life is Permanently Funny

Submitted by admin on Thu, 02/11/2010 - 13:05.

Hey want to see something funny and original?  Check out our new Effinfunny featured web-series, The Temp Life,  a workplace comedy series about life inside new york’s shoddiest temp jobs and the incompetent temp agency boss who suddenly finds himself on the other side of the timesheet. Created and produced by series regular Wilson Cleveland of CJP Digital Media for recruiting firm sponsor Spherion since 2006.

Yeah, you heard that right, a show that lovingly rips on Temp agencies is actually sponsored by a Temp Agency.  That makes Spherion cool for having a sense of humor about themselves.  The show is riddled with appearances by familiar faces from the web such as Taryn Southern (Private High Musical, Sorority Forever) and Sandeep Parikh (The Guild, The Legend of Neil, Effinfunny creator, and guy who is writing this blog right now, maybe you've heard of him?).  Anyway, I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed being in it.  Here are my episodes: my video resume and my office bromance.  And this is Taryn's hilariously homely character(she'll be in more later).

New Clips!!

I know it's been a long while my friends, but we have brand new clips for you!  One of my personal favorites and the comic that we first booked on our show is back, Eddie Gossling, with 12, count em, 12 new bits.  And the always gorgeous and risque, Melinda Hill drops in we 3 more killer gems.  Enjoy!  More to come soon! Exclamation point!

NYC Trip

Submitted by admin on Wed, 01/20/2010 - 03:31.

Went to NYC over the weekend to shoot a 4 episode arc of The Temp Life (click to see my character's video resume).  It was a total blast to play a gigantic douchebag wearing a tuxedo and a headband.  I got to catch a pretty fun show while out in NYC called "Told" it's a storyteller type show featuring some standup comics and improvisors but not really focused on trying to garner laughs from the audience.  It was simply about these performers telling a riveting story for about 15 minutes on a topic (the topic I saw was on Fighting), and it ranged from a hilariously traumatic story about reading your boyfriends diary and finding out he slept with pretty much every girl he came in contact with to a tragic yet hopeful story about an MMA fighter overcoming testicular cancer.  So if you're looking to be tickled and moved in an intimate setting in NYC and to check out something a little bit different, check out Told. Oh and it was "pay what you will" so you can drop em a fiver or if you're broke, go in for free sans guilt (they're pretty chill there). So that's always nice.

In other news, effinfunny comedian Fahim Anwar is going to guest star on Chuck in two weeks. Watch it, I'm telling you that dude is going to be somebody (I suppose that implies that he's a nobody at the moment, which is untrue, he's just going to be more of a somebody than he already is very soon).

Lastly be sure to keep up the donations to the red cross for relief in Haiti. Sure, they made a pact with the devil but really contract law is very complicated and you always get screwed in your first deal.  In all seriousness, they need our continued help and it's as easy as texting "Haiti" to 90999 and $10 gets charged to your cell phone bill.  A mere $10 goes a long way, which is probably equivalent to 45 seconds of overage time. You can do it!

That's all I got for now. Hopefully a big Legend of Neil announcement coming soon.

Love,

Sandeep

TJ Miller makes Variety's Top Ten List

Submitted by admin on Sat, 07/12/2008 - 05:46.

Just read over at one of my favorite NYC comedy blog the comic's comic that our very own TJ Miller has been listed as one of Variety's top ten comics to watch in 2008.  His star has sprouted already as the star of JJ Abram's Cloverfield and as a series regular on ABC's now cancelled Carpoolers. And he'll be working his schtick on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham tonight. Congrats TJ, you silly sunuvabitch. I want your babies.

Matt Braunger Joins Cast of MadTV!

Submitted by admin on Tue, 07/01/2008 - 00:16.

One of our very own Matt Braunger has join the cast of MadTV along with Eric Price (who'll be doing our show in July, yes, we have a show on July 16th, and yes, we don't have a link up yet to buy tickets... it will be up soon).  We couldn't be more happy and less surprised for Matt.  The dude is hilarious and apparently he killed it last year during the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival after he killed it for us and was then "discovered" by MadTV.

So with Wyatt Cenac becoming a new Daily Show correspondent and now Matt's success and the upcoming launch of our Comedy Central webseries which includes Eric Acosta, Mike Rose, and Rich Kuras it's been a pretty good Summer for our undiscovered Effinfunny comedians. More to come I'm sure.
