Effinfunny congratulates The Guild on getting picked up for a 3rd season by Microsoft with Sprint coming on board to sponsor again. According to this Hollywood Reporter article, The Guild will be shooting in June in order to release a sneak preview by Comicon. So both The Legend of Neil and The Guild will be premeiring brand new material at Comicon in San Diego in late July. So book your tickets already and get out there! A good chunk of the cast from both The Guild and Neil will be there and are eagerly waiting to meet you.

I heard from a very good source that Amy Okuda (Tink) will be flashing everyone at the con and by flashing I mean putting a lightbulb in a microwave. Get your head out of the gutter, people.

The show that I, Sandeep Parikh, act and star and co-star (I just wanted to give myself more titles) in, The Guild has premeired on MSN Video!  A new episode is due out every tuesday from here on out.  Also check out this great interview that creator, star, writer, produce, Felicia Day did with G4!  Since they talk about how funny I am its worth watching.  And once I figure out how to embed msn video the show will be up on Effinfunny.

The Effinfunny supported original series, The Guild has been on quite a run. Just weeks ago it took home $10,000 at South by Southwest winning the On Networks Greenlight award for Best Original Series on the Web. It now adds two more online awards for Best Series on the Web from Yahoo! and YouTube.

The Guild's success is at the forefront of things to come in the internet content revolution as after episode 3 each successive installment was entirely funded by the hardcore fans of the series. Donations of $5, $10, and sometimes even hundreds of dollars were sent to the series' producers via Paypal. Once enough money was accrued to cover the base costs of production the cameras would roll. The remaining 7 episodes of "season one" were funded in this manner. The producers now look to partner up with distributors and/or sponsors to fund subsequent seasons.

We here at Effinfunny would like to congratulate the creator and budding star, Felicia Day, for being smart enough to write, act and produce the first couple episodes on a shoestring and for being stupid enough to cast Effinfunny creator, Sandeep Parikh, to play the role of Zaboo with little to no acting experience. Congrats to all the cast and crew for the recent successes and many more to come!
