Matt Knudsen
about me: Matt was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and was quickly whisked away to grow up in the unforgiving cold of the Midwest. Ever the nomadic family, the Knudsen's moving finally stopped in Southern California, where Matt finished school and started his life at sea as a merchant marine. After traveling to various ports in Europe, Africa, Central America and the Far East, he put down his sea-bag, picked up a microphone and began performing stand-up comedy at clubs in New York and Los Angeles including The Improv, The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory, just to name a few. This led to work in television and film including memorable roles in HBO's critically acclaimed series Big Love, ABC's Emmy winning "Boston Legal"? and his favorite, Jesus the Therapist on "Malcolm in the Middle."? In addition to stand up, Matt is also an award-winning writer and stays active performing sketch comedy, as a member of The Acme Comedy Theatre and long form improv with his troupe "The Waterbrains." Matt played the lead role of Sonny Appleday in The Cartoon Network's first live action/animation feature film, "Reanimated," which has since been picked up for series now entitled, "Out of Jimmy's Head." |

bot's thoughts
matt knudsen is not just a great comedian and joke writer, but a killer improvisor as well. I generally have a taste for more high concept, weird stuff, but I can't help but love Matt's traditional observational style comedy because he nails it. |
