Hey all I've gotten two offers now from fans to subtitle Neil in Chinese and French. I'd love to put up subtitled versions of the show on atom.com in as many languages as humanly possible. So, if you want to subtitle the show in some language (preferably something a lot of people speak), please feel free to drop me a note at effinfunny@gmail.com and we'll make it happen.
Thanks,
The Legend of Neil Management.

Hi, a friend just reminded me, I translated LoN to Dutch last year and sent you the subs, but I never heard back.
Did you receive the translation, and are there any plans to put them to use?
Regards,
Rico
I can do Japanese, if you want.
hey Guys,
if you need a little help with the german subs, would be no problem for me cause i am actually german! Also got the german keyboard and all that kinda stuff! Admin i allready mailed you my mail!
I would love to write the subtitles in Dutch.
I will send an email right away.
hmmm I see someone already offered to do the spanish ones.. but if anything, then I can do them too.. just let me know and I'd be more than happy..
Well suck my pubes, I can be useful. See I speak Russian and Bulgarian. I'm a Slavic Major at UC Berkeley and I bet I could get extra credit by subtitling this stuff. I'll do the Russian one first. It will be fun translating "Dragon Menstruation". Send me transcripts and I will hook you up!
Hey "admin" (Sandeep?), just post the transcripts or make a wiki with them and people will come to translate the texts for free.
I can do the Spanish ones btw.
I sent you the complete German subtitles a few months ago and never heard back from you - is everything okay with the files and stuff? Also, if you need subtitles for season 2, I'd be happy to do it again!
Heh. This forum doesn't like HTML codes. :P I was going to use the example of Æ which is the ampersand followed by AElig; in HTML. I forgot what else was there except Word 2002 (XP) and later can handle all kinds of languages, but might require optional things to be installed.
Unicode (Mac/PC) is the way to get around the old ASCII character-set and system code pages. OSX and Windows XP or later use Unicode. Most browsers recognize it as well, though too many through pure unicode can make a browser assume a different code-page if it isn't defined in the header already. Many characters are actually part of the HTML codes (like
Hey! Here's Dani, who did the English and Portuguese subtitles for The Guild. I wanna do it for LoN too!
I have thought about it before but imagined it wouldn't be possible cause you guys aren't in youtube. Now that I saw this thread I definitely wanna do it!
Gonna email you on effinfunny@gmail.com to ask for the transscripts. =]
I'm doing the Norwegian subtitles, and there are three letters in the Norwegian alphabet that doesn't exist in the English alphabet; Æ, Ø, Å. (I don't even know if they show on American computers. If what I just wrote appears as E, O, A, or something, then it's supposed to be something else.) So I was wondering; will this be of any trouble concerning subtitling the Norwegian sentences to the video?
Good question. I have the same problem with some German letters...
hmmm this is a good question.. i think i can find a way to make it work as long as i'm able to see it in the word doc that you return to us. maybe you should send us a test document just to make sure that i'm able to read it the right way.
Will do as soon as I beat this stupid flu I have been battling for the last few days.
you don't seem to be receiving my emails, or you are just busy. either way I'll just tell you over the forum that I haven't yet received the transcript.
now i have them. thanks
I'd like to try writing the German ones - already sent you an email about this :-)
hey man, if you didn't get a transcript yet, please email me again and I'll send you one. thanks!
I got the transscripts now. And I dove right into it. As of now I am in the middle of episode 3 and it is FUN! I really should be studying for my exams, but this is much more fun. I can really recommend it to other people :-)
i think theyres already a couple of subed on youtube...
Hi, I'm almost done with the episode 1 subtitle. There's just one line I don't get, it's the one right after Neil throws up, so it would be great if anyone could help me with that. I don't know if that's possible but it would also be great having the script or the english subtitles, just to speed the process a little bit. And one last thing: since I don't have the video on my computer I don't know how many frame per second I should put in the subtitle software.
Hi Twinsen, if you're still wondering about what Neil is saying, it's from what I could hear, something like:
I'm gonna get the shit kicked out of me, aren't I.
you've probably figured it out by now, but i just thought i should help, just in case.
Thanks havard, it's okay now, i have the transcript. But I didn't knew this expression before, I guess it means something like: "I'm gonna get my ass kicked" Isn't it ?
jupp ;)
hey man, we'll get a transcript together for you. you don't have to worry about actually subtitling the video, i think we can handle that... thanks! just send me your email at effinfunny@gmail.com.
I'll be happy to subtitle it in English. :)
how about cockney? just add a lot of "guvna"s
also i haven't heard from the chinese guy in a while, so if someone else wants to pick up the slack, i'm all ears
